Goals

Objectives and Workpackages

Building on the available historical data and present field study data, the specific objectives of the project are to:

  • O1. integrate available historical biodiversity occurrence data and human impacts in a georeferenced database,

  • O2. document human-induced altitudinal range shifts and changes in life history traits of selected species and taxa,

  • O3. evaluate changes in the taxonomic and functional components of alpine biodiversity over time,

  • O4. assess the spread and impact of alien species,

  • O5. develop predictive species distribution models incorporating climate variables and life history parameters, and

  • O6. identify the most appropriate indicators for a long-term monitoring program.

The project will focus on three well studied taxa: amphibians, plants and terrestrial arthropods.
